Happy Dollmageddon, everyone?
I just want to give everyone a really big hug. You were very brave and very tenacious in a very difficult and aggravating situation.
Some of the good news is the post-boom dolls (from Mulan on) are starting to sell at lower prices on eBay (>$100). The resell market is flooded with scalpers' dolls and fewer and fewer desperate buyers. In a few more weeks the pricing should even out even more, even though it's unlikely to buy a doll at retail price. The sort of good news is you didn't get one today, in the future the-designer-doll-of-your-dreams may be purchased at a more reasonable price.
And I don't think Disney is every going to pull this "staggered selling" strategy for limited edition items ever, ever again.

It was also suggested a tag be created for the Designer Collection so all the posts can easily be found. My theory on the tags is they're to be used as continuously as needed and will most likely be used in the future. So after the hooplah dies down for the collection, I don't think we'll hear much more about it.
So, as a sort of experiment-compromise, I've created a Memories page with every post about the Designer Collection (48 entries at the time of post!), which you can peruse here.
Depending on how useful that is, I might also add a tag as it can be easier to scroll through archived posts.
