Survived Disney Princess Dollmageddon
Hey erryone. I was one of the lucky ones who was able to get the last 5 dolls and complete my collection. My sister, her gf and I arrived at the mall at 4 30 AM. We stood in line outside with fellow customers and at 5 AM a janitor opened the doors and everyone ran towards the store. We ran as fast as we could some men held my sister and her gf back by their shoulders just so they can get a head of them. 10 minutes later we all got kicked out by security and they told us to go back into our cars. He said we weren't allowed to line up until 6 AM. 10 mins to six another race to the front door of the mall started again. And this time we weren't so sure if we were gonna walk away with any doll. We stood in the cold and waited for a sign of a cast member, some people argued, people in the very front started talking smack on how erryone behind them should leave cause they ain't getting any dolls trying to antagonize people. Everyone was anxious! We were tired, sleepy, hungry, cold and even held off on going to the restroom.

By 8 Am the Disney cast members came out telling us they had security and the police department on stand by. So everyone was told to do a single file line and have one hand up. They told us the quantities of dolls Jasmine, Aurora and Rapunzel 22 total. Pocahontas 14 total. Tiana 13 total. They started counting the hands down the line and I was 14 in line and she said that's where Pocahontas ends if erryone in front of me was getting all 5 dolls. My sister's gf was 15 in line and my sister was 16. So for sure they were getting 3 dolls each. Luckily enough not everyone in front of us wanted all 5 dolls. And we were very happy to learn when they handed out the tickets that we were the last 3 in line to get 5 sets. After all the madness and waiting in line for almost 7 hours we were able to get 3 sets of the 5 dolls. 15 total. It was the best scenario and all of our efforts paid off.

I was able to complete my collection. And to show my appreciation for the dolls and this line I am reviewing each doll in order of its release on youtube. Pls. come check them out. I went into this collection promising myself that I would not pay for these dolls at ridiculous prices and that I would do everything I can to complete it. Staying up late, stalking the online store every night even if I had to work early the next day, and missing a day of work this past Monday. I am glad it's over and I am happy I'm one of the 4,000 who completed the 10 doll set. I'm NOT selling any of my dolls. As a true collector I am fulfilled and glad I found a way to buy all my dolls fairly not purchasing more than I had to. Now.. onto fulfilling a new collection! My Designer Doll Reviews.

Pardon my language, but are you fucking serious? Just for some stupid dolls? Did you do anything? I know it would have been pointless to start a fight, but getting physical is absolutely ridiculous! I probably would have shoved them out of my way and starting screaming obsenitites to them, even if they were bigger than me! There's no need for that!

Sorry for getting crazy, stuff like this irritates the hell out of me.

I'm so glad you got to finish your set!!

We all felt the same way!!!! VIOLATED! They actually thought it was me joking around behind them because we were in our own little friendly competition between ourselves. But I was actually running ahead of them. My sister said out loud when we formed the first line "I would've been right behind you if this FUCKER didn't hold me back to get ahead of me!!!" Then after that we all got kicked out by security. So basically that run was for nothing. The 2nd time we just jogged/ walked fast to the door of the mall. These dolls were not worth getting hurt for. After the 2nd run the final line was formed so there was no more running. But some people in front were antagonizing the people in the back. We just ignored it. Seriously luck was on our side to be the last 3 to get all 5 dolls.

Like...really? SO NOT THE SPIRIT OF DISNEY AT ALL.

Wow. It makes me sick that they got dolls at all for any reason.

Good for you! I'm glad you got the dolls despite the second time not trying to kill yourself to get in line. If I was in the back of the line I would have said "well at least I'm a true collector and not some greedy scum looking to sell them for 5x their price!" LOL

I'm still very happy for you. I'm glad all I wanted was Ariel and Mulan. I'm very short tempered and I would have not held back. Police may have been involved. XD

danggg i would've pushed those asshats right back!! congrats on finishing your set! the disney store near me only had seven sets of the dolls and the people who got there at 2 in the morning got the entire sets, so there were a bunch of people who didn't get any. :( and the sad thing is that it was obvious that most of the people were ebay sellers. they didn't have any kids with them and looked totally lost when the cast members were asking us disney trivia questions for prizes. it was kind of pathetic. i was almost in tears ahghhhh. but i did get a rapunzel doll today from the website, so i'm happy now lmfao.
francispicefrancispice on October 19th, 2011 06:47 am (UTC)
Thank You! Wow 7 dolls EACH! That's the smallest supply I've heard of. I'm glad you got your Rapunzel! She's BEAUTIFUL!!! Scalper's are terrible. I felt so bad for the people behind us cause we actually talked to a couple of mothers who were there for their daughters by themselves even a lady who was 5 months pregnant. She couldn't run at all. And she was on her feet almost the whole time right behind us.

This disturbs me. A LOT. They had no right putting their hands on ANYONE.

Resellers can [insert rude language here]. They're disgusting.

It really is disgusting. My sister was telling them "I don't care if you get a head of me you don't need to touch me, if you can run faster than me then run faster!"

LoL, maybe it's just me, but I threaten to call the police when people I don't know touch me. XD

*LOL* "I like the illustrations better than the doll." I'm watching your review right now.
francispicefrancispice on October 19th, 2011 06:52 am (UTC)
Omg kekeke! Thank you. Imma do more tomorrow. I kinda started late tonight and uploading the videos took longer than i thought. The illustrations are so perfect! I just love em. I really hope they come out with more merchandise from this line. ^_^ And congratulations on your JASMINE! I saw your post on Monday and I know you also survived standing in the cold.
Ronnililrongal on October 19th, 2011 06:59 am (UTC)
Aww, thank you! :) I didn't have it as bad as most of the people in line, my poor husband was out there at first! Most of those people were out there for 3-4 hours in 40 degree temps. And it's extra cold on Michigan Ave for some reason, so it probably felt worse.

The illustrations are lovely. It would be great if they came out with more DDP merchandise that wasn't unlimited.

And LOL, I put DDP. That also stands for Disney Dining Plan.
francispicefrancispice on October 19th, 2011 07:07 am (UTC)
WOW below 40 degree temps! I can't even begin to imagine. I'm from SO CALI so anything below 70 we put on a sweater LOL. Disney Dining Plan! LMFAO too funny!!
Ronnililrongal on October 19th, 2011 07:09 am (UTC)
OMG I HATE THE COLD. I want to live somewhere warm. My husband likes the cold though. I'm going to have to keep working on him.

I put on sweaters when it's below 70 too! Of course, it depends if the sun is out or not. Sometimes, 65 in the sun is a lot warmer than 72 in cloud cover, at least here in Chicago.

That sounds completely awful! But it's nice to know that after all that craziness you were at least able to get your dolls. :) And thank you for taking the time to make video reviews of all of them. I'll have to check those out.
francispicefrancispice on October 19th, 2011 01:10 pm (UTC)
Thank's Pls do check em out! =) I'll post Ariel tonight! I was reading the facebook page of the Disney Store and some people were talking about how they experienced or saw people cutting in line or holding positions for other people. Even throwing coffees at each other and people being removed by security from the line. Thankfully nothing like that happened where we were and no one was harmed. And most likely these were prolly the scalper's. Things went pretty smoothly when the tickets were finally handed out. And people left peacefully when they didn't get any tickets. And there was a lot of them who also waited long hours that didn't get any.

I watched your Cinderella video! You did a great job describing the doll and the collection. I think the close-ups will be very helpful for people who haven't seen the dolls in person. Cinderella's one of the ones I got, and I like that you pointed out her make-up and hairstyle, since I think they both look surprisingly nice.

"Silver Cinderella goes for like... a grand... so good luck with that." xD I can't believe how much she's selling for. It's almost exactly the same doll.

Get a camera
I think for safety procedure you could file a complaint against that guy and show him a video of what he done to you to the store clerk (or security).
but like everyone else, its really a "go for it, winner takes all" scenario!

I really am proud of you to have all the figures...

Re: Get a camera
I wish we caught it on video but we were running. That's the thing about Disney no one really knew for sure how thing were going to be done. So when the janitor opened the doors at 5 errypne thought we had to make line in the mall in front of the store. But it ended up making line outside the mall starting at 6am and tickets were handed out at 9 and they escorted u in groups of 2 or 3 to redeem your dolls at the store. The tickets they handed out were so pretty I wish we were able to keep em. But we couldn't. The Disney cast member said they had to return them to corporate. I took a picture of em I'll post it up here sometime today. It was funny though after we got kicked out of the mall the janitor said it looked like a zombie movie! LMFAO an empty mall with people running for their lives!!

Congratulations on your victory! I'm glad you were able to complete the collection after so much hard work. I'm glad someone like you got them instead of someone who thinks they're just pretty plastic. You deserve them. ^_^ I look forward to checking out your reviews!

I will have Ariel up by tonight! ^_^
