Intro & my Disney Princess collection!
Hi guys! I've been a lurker for a while but this morning I decided to take some shots of my Disney Princess collection and said hey, why not an intro & a picture post.

Anyway! My favorite princess is Jasmine, followed by Mulan, followed by Meg and then Pocahontas. I also have a soft spot for Cinderella. And Ariel. And... Belle. And... okay, really there's no Disney Princess I don't like. Though I guess the one I'm least interested in is Snow White, since I always want to shake some sense into her.

My camera is on its last legs so it's a bit blurry, but here's my Disney Princess collection! Mostly dolls at the moment, but oh well.

Not dial-up friendly below the cut!

My Ariel box. (Underneath is a WALL-E book :P)

Not technically a Disney Princess, but Esmeralda comes close enough.

Summer Seas Ariel... I love her outfit and hair! I wish her face was a bit less "EHEHE :D" though.

The new wardrobe Jasmine! The rest of the box is covered by another doll box, but, I took the clothes out anyway. I'm still surprised that Disney acknowledged that Jasmine-in-red scene...

An older Jasmine in the red outfit. Unfortunately the red necklace that came with the wardrobe set was pretty weak - it snapped just by me putting it around her neck! Also haha, I noticed how much thinner the new Jasmine dolls are... this older one juuuust fits.

An older Jasmine in the wedding outfit. Again, barely fit. Also the new Jasmine has a really big head compared to the old ones!

And finally a Jasmine in the purple dress. Actually I'm pretty sure this Jasmine was the original wedding doll Jasmine? Aha, weird. Again... small head compared to the new ones.

The Snow White wardrobe - I only have this SW doll so far, so no other outfitted dolls yet - set! I really liked this one. I hope they do wardrobe sets for Pocahontas and Mulan, too. Oh, and my Esmeralda dancing doll & globe.

Apparently my far-away shot of this got deleted. Spring Blossom Mulan! Very pretty.

The new Mulan & Friends doll. And some glare from my camera.

Matchmaker Mulan! I wish they would make more dolls with her full matchmaker outfit, instead of the weird sparkly stuff.

Speaking of sparkle, the new Sparkle Princess Mulan!

Midnight Romance Cinderella - the only Cinderella doll I told myself I had to get. I love everything about this doll. Especially the mold, because it reminds me of vintage Barbies.

Gem Princess Jasmine, I think. Probably one of the last Jasmine dolls before this latest line of DS ones that I liked.

A sadly blurry photo of the film premiere Mulan!

The new Pocahontas & Friends. I like the older Pocahontas dolls much more, but, I couldn't resist buying this one.

Sparkling Sleeping Beauty, the blue dress version. I don't care for the pink dress, so I try to collect as much of the blue stuff as I can!

The classic Jasmine, of course!

Again, my lame camera fails on me - but my favorite Jasmine doll, Special Sparkles Jasmine.

The new Tiana doll! I'm not entirely keen on the facemold, but the hair and dress are (IMO) much better than the Mattel Tiana.

Holiday Belle. I love the dress.

The Classics Sleeping Beauty. Her eyes don't work anymore, sadly.

And now my books:

The 1970-something reprint of the Golden book. I love the illustrations:

The Mary Blair art/Cynthia Rylant narrative Cinderella. Gorgeous art and a romantic narrative. :)

And a reprint of a Snow White golden book. Not my favorite - the art is cute but the execution of the pictures is blah for me.

And, aside from a few odd trinkets I didn't remember to photograph (a few tumblrs - Mulan, Pochontas, Jasmine; a few toy figurines here and there, umm some board games and some Little Mermaid shrinky dinks...) that's it! I love the dolls the most. There's a few I still really want to get, like the Broadway Belle and some of the fashion outfits... and ahh, the Disney Store keeps coming out with great dolls lately, too. I almost miss when I didn't like their dolls. Almost.

ANYWAY. If you made it through those pics, thanks for looking! Hopefully I can blather more about Disney Princesses at some point. :)

I absolutely love the Ariel box you posted way at the top. Where did you get that? I'm curious if there are more....

I got it at the Disney Store in April 2008, I think? It's from a Disney Princess Nouveau(?) Collection that they put out that year.

I have those same Esmerelda dolls!! Though mines are were so destroyed cus I played with them so much. I passed them as well as lots of Barbies and a couple of older Ariels onto my little cousin a month or so ago :)

I also asked for the new wardrobe Jasmine from the US for my Christmas cus you just cant seem to to get her here.

And I love love love the blue dress Auroras :D

And last but not least! Welcome to the comm and thanks for sharing. I always enjoy getting a peek at other peoples collections ^_^

Oh and I used to have the classic Jasmine but her head fell off XD
de_yatende_yaten on December 10th, 2009 02:09 am (UTC)
Haha, my original ones were pretty much wrecked too!

I hope you get her! If you end opening it, try to be reallllly careful with the necklaces and small bits since they snap kind of easy under non-kid hands, haha.

Thanks! :)

I have the same Aurora doll you have (the classic's one), and her eyes don't work anymore either. I think they are half "closed", so she is going to be eternally sleepy, lol.

I heard that it's a common problem with those dolls that dealt with warm/cold water "magic" stuff. I have a Sea World Barbie with black legs that would turn 'nude' in warm water but after using it for years, they're stuck in a weird blackish/nude limbo. :P

I had that Esmeralda doll in the red dress and the matchmaker Mulan doll!

Awesome! And icon <33

I had some of those dolls! Now you've given me huge nostalgia. :(
de_yatende_yaten on December 10th, 2009 02:13 am (UTC)
Aww, but nostalgia can be fun! And aha... a lot of the dolls I bought, I bought because I had them as a kid and wanted the nostalgia rush.
Criminally Inclined®: Beautifulprincealia on December 9th, 2009 10:07 pm (UTC)
I have all the Jasmine dolls, a few of the Mulan ones (I AM SO JEALOUS YOU HAVE THAT IMPERIAL BEAUTY FILM PREMIRE ONE), Tiana, and I use to have the dancing gypsy Esmeralda doll when I was a kid. My mother took the tambourine from me because I liked to press it a little too much.

I was thinking about buyng some wardrobe sets of Jasmine to put a doll in each outfit like you did. I'll stick with the one I have for now, though xD
de_yatende_yaten on December 10th, 2009 02:15 am (UTC)
I figured you'd have the Jasmine ones! Ahh I love the Imperial Beauty Mulan, especially how she has the two weights from the training camp on her dress. (Now will we ever get a Ping doll with awesome looking armor? C'mon Disney!)

Haha if you do, be prepared to just display them against something... the older dolls are thicker. I had to put a bit of tape on the one with the red outfit so it didn't keep siding down to show off her goodies. :P
Criminally Inclined®: Aladdin and Genieprincealia on December 10th, 2009 03:43 am (UTC)
asdhfkjsdf I've always wanted the freaking doll, but just never got around to getting it and now it gets more expensive every year (I know, the armor always looks cheap :/). Same with the Spring Blossom one, as well. That whole series of season dolls is really nice.

HAHA I was tellling kangofu that when were talking about doing that. I figured the clothes wouldn't fit as well because the torsos of the newer molds are different from the older ones. We went into this whole conversation about how Aladdin wouldn't be happy she's flashing everyone xD
de_yatende_yaten on December 10th, 2009 04:30 am (UTC)
I hate watching the prices of dolls going up, lol. Especially if I can remember a time when I was like "Hey, maybe I'll bid on this... naww, some other time," then when I look it up again it's double the price. :/

Haha, I didn't even think about what Aladdin would be showing off! It's a shame since the older molds (to me, anyway) are cuter. Though the new DS Aladdin doesn't look too shabby.
Criminally Inclined®: Aladdinprincealia on December 10th, 2009 05:37 am (UTC)
Oh, I know. There have been several times where I could have gotten something, but opted not to only to see the price only go higher. It also kills me when I get it for one price and then see it cheaper a few days later or something xD

The new DS Aladdin is one of the best ones they have for him. Not that there's a lot to choose from, but that one and the UK Simba Aladdin molds are my favorites so far. The newest one doesn't have the fez molded to his head \o/ It's better than the 2007 one, that's for sure. It's not as cartoony looking.
persoconchii on December 10th, 2009 12:17 am (UTC)
so many pretty dolls! Thank you for sharing ^__^

I absolutely adore the curls on the Tiana doll ^_^ Have only seen the Disney Store ones, so no idea how she matches up to other ones
de_yatende_yaten on December 10th, 2009 02:19 am (UTC)
Thanks for commenting!

The curls are one of the best parts of the DS Tiana, IMO. here's the Mattel doll, if you wanted to compare!
persoconchii on December 11th, 2009 03:58 am (UTC)
wow....... Mattel dress = fail!
Briannataimoset on December 10th, 2009 01:55 am (UTC)
OMG you have such an epic collection!
de_yatende_yaten on December 10th, 2009 02:20 am (UTC)
Mine is nowhere near as epic as some of the other's I've seen, haha. But thanks! :)

I love your Jasmine dolls! I have the rarest one Princess in Pink it cost me an arm and a leg but she's beautiful!!
de_yatende_yaten on December 14th, 2009 01:42 am (UTC)
Thanks! I think I remember that one, she's so pretty!

Hello I am Gabriel, congratulations for your beautiful dolls collectors. I'm italian and I do not speak good English. I wanted to ask, you can scan the image that is in the box of mulan's doll?
I would really like
de_yatende_yaten on December 14th, 2009 01:42 am (UTC)

I'm sorry, I don't have a working scanner right now!
Geeky Mint: The Little Mermaid-artbook 1mintbunny on December 10th, 2009 05:07 pm (UTC)
That Midnight Romance Cinderella is GORGEOUS. I'd buy dolls of my least favorite princesses if they were as beautiful as that.
de_yatende_yaten on December 14th, 2009 01:43 am (UTC)
I agree! I think it'd be neat of them to do more dolls like her, based around concept art and more "classy" looking, in a way.
decadent_drudecadent_dru on December 11th, 2009 02:27 am (UTC)
Fantastic collection, I adore the Ariel trinket box. I'm on the hunt for items from that Disney collection so I am very jealous.
Also, I used to have those Esmerelda dolls when I was about 9 but a girl my Uncle was babysitting stole them. >:(
de_yatende_yaten on December 14th, 2009 01:44 am (UTC)
Thanks! It's such a shame they're about impossible to find, they're one of the most gorgeous things the princess line has had out. Ahh that sucks about the Esmeralda dolls! :(
