Disney Art Nouveau Collection

I've been trying to post more lately, just to get into the good habit, and after reading de_yaten's recent post I realized I had un-uploaded pictures of The Art Nouveau Collection from 2008.

Plus, since this comm's posted about the Nouveau collection before there will be lots of reference links, meaning less work for me and more props to everyone else :D So look for your name and enjoy the pictures!

Note: All merchandise posted about here is no longer for sale at the Disney Store, so happy eBaying ^_^;

Disney Art Nouveau Journals

First mention of the Jasmine Journal by lady_yuna16
Post of all three Nouveau Journals by pwnquin
bloss_japanime photoshopped the images into lovely backgrounds, linking them here
jesspark made Kindle Screensavers of the images and linked them here

Disney Art Nouveau Faux Stained Glass Art

Remaining images by mdmbrightside, unless noted otherwise

Disney Art Nouveau Glass Trinket Boxes

Ariel Trinket Box top by jesspark

I'd never seen this trinket box before and only found it by random crazy happenstance :D

Disney Art Nouveau Shirts

The very last shirt is noted for being the only inclusion of Belle in the entire collection,
meaning there was art done for her but it just never appeared on any merchandise.

Disney Art Nouveau in The Art of the Disney Princess

The original art for the collection was done by Enrique Pita & Ed Irizarry, as featured in The Art of the Disney Princess.
I haven't spoken to anyone who has the book yet
but it is possible all six images (even the unseen image of Belle) are included therein!

Why isn't Belle on any of these? Oh wait...she's on that shirt. I think she should have her own individual design, but at least she got a mention.

Otherwise, I like the Ariel designs the most. Jasmine's are a close second.

Oh silly me, I just read your mention of Belle's stuff in the last paragraph. I'm gonna have to do some scouting for her Nouveau merchandise!

I have that Cinderella trinket box *huggles*
I think there is a new nouveau box collection out but it's through one of those "subscription" shops like Danbury Mint, but can't remember the exact name...

I have the "Art of Disney Princess" artbook but unfortunately no scanner D: Otherwise I'd gladly scan pages of it for people to see.

Sadly, no Belle in the ART OF DISNEY PRINCESS. I wish we could see her!!

There's another artist's version of a Mucha-esque Belle in the book, by Dorota Kotarba-Mendez. It's really gorgeous. My thought was that perhaps the original Mucha-inspired series DID have a Belle, but the editor of the book didn't want to include it, to avoid having two Belles in so similar a style.

I was stunned they didn't use Belle since she is always on everything ever :P

my husband created these pieces.
Ed Irizarry drew and came up with the designs/creations of these princesses and Enrique Pita just colored them.

These were amazing pieces but unfortunately didn't get pushed enough and just didn't go anywhere and next thing you know stores didn't sell them anymore.

Truly unique and different. Never found the trinket boxes and glass stained art.

Only have the journals, and the shirts. Great book Art of Disney Princess. Amazing talent!!!

Re: my husband created these pieces.

I loved this line. I'm glad I bought the Ariel box & the Aurora stained glass for my friend when I did. I can't even find these things on ebay. :(

I have the 6 princesses shirt. I love it! The day I wore it when I went to Disneyland in '08, a lady ran up to me and was like "Where did you get your shirt?!" I told her I got it online. I hope she got a shirt before they were all gone. :)
Sadly, my sister put it in the wash with too much bleach and now there's a white stain all along the back. :( My long hair covers it partly, but still, it's a rare collector's item now. Replacements in my right size are very hard to find.

Hey, I just want to be sure, but are these things licensed by Disney or just fan products? I don't buy fan products for obvious reasons, but these look pretty legit, even though I've never seen princess in non-disney style on products.

I just noticed you said they don't sell them anymore. God I want that shirt so bad. I've looked but there are no links to it.

Re: jj
This line is absolutely licensed by Disney! Everything you see here was originally sold on the Disney Store during the winter and spring of 2008. Disney occasionally sells products that don't mimic the exact animation style of the Princesses - the first one that leaps to mind is the Spotlight Princess series.

Because the line isn't carried in the Disney Store anymore, your next best bet is bidding for it on eBay. Searching for "Disney Nouveau Collection" or a combination of "Disney Nouveau" and one of the Princess's names can yield some good results. I can give you the exact names of the shirts, too, as sellers sometimes use them. Good luck!

"Jasmine Long-Sleeve Top for Her" (on eBay)
"Ariel Long-Sleeve Top for Her"
