Aurora is 100% an improvement. The old dress was clunky and frumpy and didn't capture the elegance of the dress from the film. The giant disco collar didn't help. This one is beautiful though! And not just the dress has been improved. The tiara (it was too tall before) and wig look better as well.

These new costumes show how ill-fitting and chunky the previous costumes were. The new costumes are so much more flattering and canonical. I'm not 100% in love with the changes to the Princesses' designs, but I absolutely love the costume/wig changes.

And the tiara! I love it so much!

I agree completely! I would prefer the new dress without the pattern on both the bodice and the skirt, maybe just one or the other, but it is far better than the old one at capturing the elegance of the movie dress.

I love Aurora's new design! It's pretty and so detailed!

Way better! Still, I kind of wish the train would be longer since Aurora's dress does drape to the floor.
Flying Mint Bunnyharo on April 13th, 2013 07:59 pm (UTC)
I think they probably consider it impractical to give the girls trains, considering that they're walking around a lot outside in the parks.

I thought about that. I guess you are right. It would be cool to see them in trains though.

Weirdly, despite not being a huge fan of the art or most of the redesigns at all, I really like the new IRL dress :D I really like the crown as well. Only part I dislike are the shoes.
Abigail: Kingdom Hearts Squaremdmbrightside on April 13th, 2013 04:23 pm (UTC)
Yeah, those shoes... I don't understand what they were going for. Sure, Aurora's symbols are her tiara or a pink rose - but why do they have to be hot-glued on her toes?

I hope they left Aurora in her Blue Dress at DLP. I'm on a mission to meet here when I got in 2 weeks time and she better still be BLUE

Her winter outfit is adorable!

I don't particularly care for the redesign, but when I see it side-by-side with the old dress I have to admit, it's a lot more flattering and a lot less chunky. I still wish it didn't have that all over pattern, though.

I agree that the new dress design is a huge improvement on the old one, which was far too bulky and heavy-looking. The shoulder things are much better!

But...the thing I like the most about Sleeping Beauty is the look of the film, which includes her dresses reflecting a very 1950's style and cut. I wish they would make a park dress that recreated that! This is the kind of cut on the waist that I imagine on a real-life version of the dress. Also, nhf the bangs, shoes, and pattern on the fabric: looks like something I'd find on the shelves at Jo-Anne's :T.

No for eternity @ Cindy, I will forever be pressed about that & Ariel...she looks like a bar maid (=_=).
